After seeking church-wide input, the Taskforce to Reimagine the Church (or TREC) has released its final report.  They have taken their mandate to reimagine the church seriously, with sweeping changes recommended for the Episcopal Church’s governance.  These include meeting as a unicameral body at General Convention instead of having separate deliberations in the House of Bishops and House of Deputies, significantly limiting the size of Executive Council while affirming their role in governance, clarifying the Presiding Bishop’s work and adding in greater accountability for those employed to carry out the work of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society or DFMS (commonly referred to as 815).

The question remains: will the Bishops and Deputies at next summer’s General Convention agree with the recommendations and work to implement them?
